Documentary series, 3 episodes of 40 min, directed by Mari Sanders, produced by EO
Editor: Daan Wijdeveld NCE
“You can almost touch the discomfort when Sanders gets stuck at the top of a Venetian staircase. Should you firmly grab a man like him and carry him down, as a complete stranger decides to do? Or should you let him sort it out himself?” – de Volkskrant
What does Europe look like through the eyes of people with a physical disability? To answer that question, filmmaker Mari Sanders, who uses a wheelchair as a result of cerebral palsy, makes an unusual journey through Europe. He criss-crosses the continent: from Italy to Sweden and from England to Bulgaria. The three-part series is full of disarming encounters and shows again and again the universal power of perseverance.
